How did you come across Sportiw and what motivated you to create a profile on the platform?
I found out about it through my brother and his girlfriend, who are both professional basketball players and were already familiar with the platform. They encouraged me to create a profile and apply for the different opportunities available at the time.
How did the process of getting in touch with Almassora Balonmano go? Did they contact you or did you apply for an offer?
The Almassora Balonmano club contacted me through the platform because they were looking for a pivot with my profile. Thanks to Sportiw, they were able to get in touch with me very easily. Everything was very simple.
How did you feel when the club showed interest in you, and how did the negotiation process go?
When the club contacted me, I was very happy, although it surprised me since the season was about to end. Thanks to the platform’s internal chat, we were able to quickly reach an agreement. Everything was done in a simple and secure way.
What aspects of Sportiw helped you the most in securing this transfer?
In my case, having a well-completed profile and being able to contact the coach directly helped me a lot.
Before signing with Almassora, had you received other opportunities or contacts through Sportiw?
Yes, I had received two other offers, but they were not compatible with my studies.
How was your adaptation to the new club, and what are your expectations for this season?
My adaptation to the club was not difficult. My teammates are wonderful and helped me feel comfortable. The integration with the staff also went very well. I hadn’t met the coach on the first day, but when I finally got to know him, I felt great because my teammates had given me excellent references about him.
My goals are to contribute as much as possible to the club’s performance, both collectively and individually. I want to adapt as quickly as possible to the team’s playing style, strengthen my bonds with my teammates, and give my best on the field. Personally, I aim to continue progressing as a player, improving my technical, physical, and mental skills.
Would you recommend Sportiw to other players looking for new opportunities? Why?
Yes, I would definitely recommend Sportiw to other players because I had a very positive experience. I felt well-supported as a player, and the communication was always very professional.
How would you describe the experience of using Sportiw compared to traditional methods for finding a team?
I would say that Sportiw provides much greater visibility and more contacts. With traditional methods, the opportunities are more limited, and the contacts are much fewer.
What advice would you give to players who want to use Sportiw to secure a transfer?
I would advise them to take the time to complete their profile thoroughly, add as much information as possible, and include highlight videos as well as full matches where they performed well.
What are your personal and professional goals with Almassora Balonmano?
Personally, I want to build a strong connection with my teammates, both on and off the field. Developing a good relationship will help us understand each other better during matches and strengthen the team’s cohesion.
On a technical and tactical level, I want to perfect my skills, improve my efficiency, and adapt to new game systems to enrich my understanding of handball.
Professionally, my goal is to continue evolving as a player, gain more experience, and always strive to give the best version of myself on the field.
What do you think about the idea of more clubs and players from Uruguay and South America using Sportiw to find opportunities in Europe?
I think it’s a great idea. In Uruguay, we’re used to thinking that coming to play in Europe is a very difficult path, and that without a European passport, it’s almost impossible. I believe that Sportiw opens up many opportunities that we hadn’t even considered until now.
